The sheer white
Of arctic ice
Glistening sweat
In the brief light of day
A feather falling
Fading out
Lost in a scene
Of polar bears at play
Nipping and scratching
With teeth and with claws
Sure not to unsheathe
The full extent of their maws
Ocean water
Cold and salty
Pooling at their feet
World crumbling away
In abnormal heat
When the bears can’t stop falling
There’s somewhere else calling
Move to a place where the ground’s still for now
Stay there and play there until it goes down
