You dropped your halo
Down a city sewer grate…

Snow angels fall
Upon wooden winter stakes…

We align like stars
Constellations form where we stand…

A stone has moved…

Coffee spills on the stained wood
Stained deeper…

Leave me by the water
Where I’ll have enough to drink…

The ephemeral sunset’s scarlet light
Breaks through the window
And falls…
