9/18/2023: 3 Years in Poems

Holding on

To words on the run

Writing them down

Before they’re all gone

Capturing, saving

And sharing as well

Keep on thinking

There’s stories to tell

Author’s Note: Today marks the third anniversary of this blog! I’m actually having a hard time believing that I haven’t missed a single day over all this time, but I’ve been keeping up. At 27 years old, this means that for about a ninth of my life, I’ve been writing a poem every day. It definitely hasn’t always been easy, and I’m definitely more inspired on some days than others, but I’ve never run out of things to write (even if A LOT of these are about stars, anxiety, and the weather, lol). Most of the time I’ve spent writing (outside of these poems) has been for my novel (which I’ll provide updates on as well once I have a completed draft), but at some point I’m hoping to put together “Best Of” compilation books of each year with more polished drafts of the year’s best poems, so hopefully we can look forward to that in the future. I might do more posts like this, too; I actually started doing this about a month before the blog started, in August 2020, so the idea to turn it into a blog kind of came as an afterthought. I’d definitely like to make this blog more bloglike at some point. But anyways, thank you for reading, I hope you’ve enjoyed some of the poetry here, I hope that all of your writing is going well, and I’ll see you tomorrow for another poem! Here’s to another year!
