It’s been a while

Since I’ve sat outside

Beneath a tree

To sleep or write

These days I’m always

On the run

To a destination

Or just for fun

But the leaves flash by

In the blink of an eye

No time to watch them

Fall and fly

Perhaps tomorrow

I’ll take to the shade

And stay a while

In nature’s play
