Being afraid
Is a tiring thing
And nervousness serves
A limited purpose
When nerves overload
And break through the surface
And bind us in chains
Kept locked in our brain
Connected to weights
That drag us down deep
Restricting our selves
And wearing us out
But if we pretend
The chains aren’t there
And keep moving forward
In spite of our fear
We’ll find that we’re fine
Still breathing in time
To the rhythm of life
And the song of the sky
