When she decided
On where she would go
She picked up her bag
And walked through the snow
It got higher and higher
The further she got
The places the plows
And the shovelers forgot
And to make matters worse
The snow was still falling
But still, if she slipped
The snow’s safe to fall in
Underneath the last lamp
On the far edge of town
Some people were gathered
Their eyes on the ground
“The man’s frozen solid”
Someone said to a cop
“He came from the woods,
Then he came to a stop…”
Still she kept walking
Unseen and unheard
Determined to make it
Through a dark, unknown world
