The current had carried him

Way too far

With both eyes open

No clue where they are

Then a sharp gasp of air

And he’s fully aware

He’s been drifting for years

On a river fair

But the current picks up

As he starts to fight

So he makes for the shore

With all his might

Lacking compass or map

In this forest vast

He sits down and wonders

How long he’ll last
