This Winter, like the one that came before

Will coat the world in cold and bitter ice

Yet though all’s frozen, dangerous to touch

There’s no other time the warmth feels quite as nice

Whether wrapped in a coat, or tucked up in bed

Or close to the fire, snow melting from your head

The search and the scarcity make it so much sweeter

As loved as the Sun, a rusty gas-fired heater
