If we could all fly
Then what good would be walls?
And how many people
Could fit inside our halls
When free from the pull
Of gravity’s hand
We hoist up our anchors
Sunk deep in the land
But surely new limits
Would be brought around
Explicitly written
To bring us back down
But what good are words
When our actions can soar
To reach out to life
And cry out for more
Author’s Note: I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since I started this blog! I also can’t believe that I was able to keep up with writing one poem every day for this entire year, lol! I just wanted to thank you all for reading these, regardless of how often you checked in on the blog, and I sincerely hope that it inspired you to do more writing yourself as well! Doing this blog has definitely been an interesting experience, and I really did surprise myself by the fact that there was never a point where I felt like I was out of inspiration. I have no intention of stopping any time soon; this blog is called “A Life In Poems” after all, not “Maybe A Year or Two of Poems, I Don’t Know.” Anyways, thanks again for joining me on this journey for the past year, and let’s look forward to many more years of poetry to come! Take care, everyone!
