The tusks are sharp

To break through the ice

And let others know

That their prospects are nice

Or fight with a rival

That they’ve grown to hate

And help them secure

Their next meal or a mate

These ivory teeth

Curving down to the ground

When held in the Sun

Are the brightest around

The walrus’s treasure

A treasure to man

I keep a collection

Just because I can
