I see her
In the light of the fire
Walking down the sidewalk
I take a step forward
The man holds me back
She’s gone in the crowd
The great human pack
“Forget her,” he says
“That road leads to pain
No man has walked through
Without going insane”
“Where else can I go?”
He takes a long smoke
“Look around you,” he says
“It’s The City of Roads
Take that one right now
And see where it goes.”
I take one step forward
The light leads the way
Off to what adventures
Are waiting today
